Hilda was born in Namibia, grew up in South Africa, spent her young adult years in New Zealand and settled on the Central Coast of NSW in 2011. Creativity has always been an important part of her being and over the years she has found many creative outlets including painting, floral art, graphic design and beading. She was introduced to clay in 2018 and loves the flexibility and endless opportunities hand building offers. After a busy week in a full-time corporate role, she enjoys the opportunity to get lost in the making process. People, their many different expressions, quirks and moods have always been fascinating to her and seeing a personality emerge from a lump of clay is hugely gratifying. She also loves the challenge of giving each piece a unique and fitting name! At the end of the day though, her hope is that her art makes people smile.
